Mill Capacity and Fuel Fineness Test

  • The below series of test for mill optimization are required to operate the system at the productive rate without having to cause harm on the internals of the mill. To quantify mill performance, ElenTech Resources uses specialised type of equipment that allows the iso-kinetic measurement of individual burner line for airflows and extraction of representative coal samples from each pipe.
  • Clean Air Test

  • Flue Gas Composition & Temperature for Heat Transfer
  • Flue gas samples are taken before and after the air heater and then analysed by measuring the percentage of oxygen in the samples. This method is very time-consuming and special measuring equipment needs to be used.
  • Primary, Secondary, nozzles and overfire air flow traversing
  • Combustion air flows should be accurately measured and controlled using venturis in the plant to stay within specified deviation in percentage. Our tests are in such a way that plant operating margins can be determined and verified to optimize the boiler. To ensure that the DCS indicates the correct flow to within ±5%, the venturi is calibrated by performing a Cold “K” factor Test and Hot “K” factor tests over the load range.
  • PA Flow Calibration
  • Our special pitot tube traverse is performed depending on where sampling points are located. A proper calibration is done at design percentage radial vane openings. Our pitot tubes are calibrated according to approved SANAS standards.
  • ID Fan Discharge: Flue Gas Flow Measurements
  • Induced draft fan or ID Fan is required to evacuat
  • he exhaust gases from Boiler to atmosphere through Duct collectors and chimney. Usually, ID should take care of draft loss across the Boiler from furnace to Air heater and then draft loss across Duct Collectors like ESP, Wet Scrubber or mechanical type Cyclone dust collectors.

FD Fan Flow Measurements and Stall Protection System:

  • The evaluated duty point (volume, Mass flow & total pressure) can be compared to a stall warning line and stall trip line. As part of our complete report, gas density at fan inlet, volume flow, total pressure on both inlet and outlet and total over the fan are calculated.Our team of quailed technicians are to conduct the test, and the highly experienced Test Engineers confirm DCS Correction factors for the new curve on the fans to operate at true margin.
